STUDY SAYS CHILDREN'S SUCCESS IN SCHOOLS TIED TO TEACHER'S WELLBEING

For those anti-teacher types that are either ignorant, uniformed or just plain jealous, please take the time to read a study published in the published in the Journal of Educational Administration that illustrates that the wellbeing of teachers is critical to children's success.

Teachers are facing unprecedented stress following a number of years of cutbacks that have been delivered by provincial government's of different stripes in this province.

A succession of budget moves aimed at increasing class sizes, the crisis crated by the underfunding of inclusion, lacking IRT support and other cuts to programs have created a stressful environment that is impacting on the health, wellbeing and innovation of the men and women who made educating our children their vocation.

This fall, on top of larger classes, some teachers are coping with delivering two curriculums in multi-grade classrooms.

Don't we all want the emphasis to be on success for our children?
