BRING ON THE SUMMER - FORGET THE FORECAST

Longer days, warmer evenings, the smell of fresh cut grass, outdoor fires, the smell of fresh flowers blooming, the smell of supper grilling barbecues,  marshmallows roasting over a campfire.  taste of salt water, the way condensation beads up on my drink glass, lying out in the grass looking up the stars, long evening walks and warm evening rain! Just a few of my favorite things about summer.

School finishes this week so Kristine and the boys have a few months of rest and relaxation ahead of them. Me, not so much. With the hectic lives we lead, a little downtime does the body good. I hope we can take some time to truly enjoy the spontaneous moments of life.

We have not truly camped over the past couple of years. I hope to spend a little more time traveling in the province, pitching a tent or renting a cabin.

The boys and I love swimming. I am not much for public pools but am always on the lookout for a good swimming hole. Already they are wondering if the water is warm enough for a swim down at Flat Rock!

Than there is are those  lazy days of summer where you get to be lazy and lay in a reclining hair or a hammock with a good book - more on that later. (I had to break this post into two)

I want to spend more time with my family, doing our family things this summer.
