SUNNY FOR THE OVERCAST

Have you ha chance to pick-up a copy of St. John's newest paper, The Overcast?

The debut issue is available, for free, all over town. From the point of view of content and design, I was really impressed. Clean, well written, diverse and yet refreshingly focused.

One of the first things I do when gauging the success of an up-start is examine the volume of paid advertising. If The Overcast can keep the advertisers it has a good chance of being around for a long time to come.

For what it is worth, I hope it lives up to it's moniker, "Newfoundland and Labradors Arts and Culture Newspaper"

David Benson's column on the quality, depth and intellectual deficit really resonated with me. A frank observation that I have shared over the years. In short garbage in equates to garbage out. If you wonder why we have such poor leadership, read this article.

Congratulations to the owners on a great start.
