The recent controversy in this province over the similarities between Manitoba's "new" tourism ads and the successful ad campaigns used to attract tourists to this province has brought a little focus to tourism marketing.

Newfoundland and Labrador's campaign has received 209 national and international awards.

I have not been one to be influenced by tourism marketing, mostly because my ability to travel has been restricted by the pressing needs of raising three boys. I would really like to drive from Mexico City to Peru - hike Machu Picchu. That desire is not the result of a marketing campaign, it is something I have always wanted to do.

However, a  feel good video created for Inspired By Iceland, has gotten my attention. After watching this video, I want to visit Iceland and beat the jungle drums!
