GOING THEIR OWN WAYS:

ECONOMIST
In Canada there is the occasional flare-up of regionalism.

We have the Quebec issue - the threat of separation, Western Alienation and at times a call for the union of the four Atlantic provinces.

Here in Newfoundland and Labrador, there are Labrador nationalists who feel that they are not seeing the returns they should for the resources the big land provides.

Imagine if the Quebec question became one of dividing the province into several provinces or if Ontario was divided into two or three provinces?

This article in the Economist caught my attention. There is a movement in California to divide the state into a bunch of smaller states? I thought it was interesting. No one wants to separate from the United States but from each other?
