KEEPING BUSY AND FINDING A BALANCE

Sometimes, I forget that dedicated readers check in everyday to read my posts. I apologize for being inactive over the past week. Time has become a real premium with fall kids activities, researching my book, taking on an extra contract, volunteer obligations and the day-to-day responsibilities that we all have to do.

There certainly has been no shortage of things to post about. The Senate scandal has been eclipsed by the ongoing farce in Toronto, The proposed Muskrat Falls deal is on shakier ground than the North Spur and local writers are offering a plethora of intriguing offerings and the Liberal party leadership. All of which cry out to me for some commentary.

In the interest of transparency, I should tell you that I have accepted a short term contract to assist Independent MHA Dale Kirby over the next couple of weeks. I have always had a great respect for his intelligence, passion and work ethic and look forward to providing some communication and research services to him.

Frankly, after my last disillusioning experience working as a political staffer, I swore that I would never to return to the legislature unless it was as an MHA. Never say never, I suppose! I am enjoying participating in the democratic process without the confines of party labels.

I ask you to bare with me over the next few weeks as I find a work/home/blog balance.
