Conversation around the Thanksgiving Table at our friend's house centered around the October 4th The Fifth Estate's broadcast of a report on the dangers of sugar and the food industries conspiracy to hide the facts from consumers.

The story investigates the health debate which is linking sugar not only rising onesity rates but also to cancer, heart disease and Alzheimers.

How much sugar are you consuming? A lot more than you probably know. The average Canadian consumes 26 teaspoons of sugar per day. That’s 40 kilos a year--- the equivalent of 20 bags. The fifth estate show that the food industry has known – and discussed -- how the potential links between processed foods and diseases for a long time.

The segment is an eye opener.  Is it  time to rethink how you treat your body?
