HARVEST DAY AT THE CUPERTINO ORCHARD

I am eager to watch Apple's keynote media event today.

It feels a lot like Christmas. Yea, I am a nerd and an Apple junkie.

The anticipated  launch of the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 kicks off in just a few hours.

I have been holding off replacing my first generation iPad in the hopes that the Apple iPad Mini 2 would be available this fall.

Today’s keynote should remedy the unfulfilled expectations of the  iPhone 5S launch in September.

Tech observers have been busy predicting that the revised iPads will feature an A7 chip, retina displays, slimmer designs, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, a motion co-processor and may be available in a new Space Gray color variant with anodized aluminum

Apple is also expected to unveil the new Macbook Pro and the newest edition of the OS X – Mavericks.  I do not know how I feel about another OS build. Mountain Lion was good but I am getting tired of paying a yearly fee to purchase an operating system that is compatible with new software.

To add insult to the injury, a number of my most used programs, ie. Parallels will require new versions. It just feels like I am paying a yearly renewal fee for my applications.

Mavericks is expected to go live on the Mac App store by the end of the month, and I will be updating, despite feeling a tinge of being taken advantage of.

It is Kristine's birthday, I wonder if she would like a new Macbook Pro. It would be nice to not have to share mine!

Stay tuned for an update after the keynote. I’ll either be ecstatic or vexed!
