Two weeks into the new school year. Old and routines are taking shape.

Drop-offs, pickups, Wizard of Oz practice, Shallaway, school councils, meet the teacher nights( x3), hockey, guitar lessons and hip-hop. It certainly pays to have some organization and a lot of patience.

I have stepped away from many of my non-family commitments for this school year. The hustle of raising a family and looking for work is enough without the mix of small-p politics and the unneeded stress that comes with it.  I have learned to say no.

If you are looking for a good use of your volunteer time might I interest you in the Virginia Park Elementary Kids Eat Smart  breakfast program? We are in real need of parent/grandparent and community volunteers. The program is one of the best in the city. We rely on volunteers  to help deliver a nutritious breakfast to our kids every morning.  The commitment would be once every two weeks from 7:30 – 8:30 on Fridays and Thursdays.

We are really fortunate to have great support from the community. St. Mark's Anglican Church volunteers look after Mondays, St. Paul's Knights of Columbus cover Tuesday, Wednesday and some Thursdays, The Northwest Rotary pitches in for the last couple of Wednesdays  each month and our local MHA, Lorraine Micheal  volunteers on the last Friday of the month.

To volunteer contact the school or Kristine Whittle (576-2330).

I have found that employers are very open and flexible in allowing staff to volunteer for the Kids East Smart Program

The smiles on the kids faces is the greatest reward.

Victory and Pride for all!

If you want to play and enjoy your game in a well manner then it is very important that your daily diet should be balanced and healthy because our diet plays a very important role in our day to day work, it provides all necessary nutrition and vitamins to our body. If you want to become the best hockey player then you must know all the pin point techniques related to hockey and for that you can join any well reputed hockey school.
