From One Second to the Next, is a 35-minute short film that emotionally recounts how lives have been forever changed by the act of texting while driving.

Every single day I am amazed with the number of people that re whizzing around the city texting while driving. A Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, study found that drivers engaged in text messaging on a cellular phone are 23 times more likely to be involved in a crash or near crash event compared with non-distracted drivers.

Texting While Driving Is:

1. About 6 times more likely to cause an accident than driving intoxicated
2. The same as driving after 4 beers – National Hwy Transportation Safety Admin.
3. The number one driving distraction reported by teen drivers

The video highlights real examples of people's lives that were changed forever because of the issue.
The video can be found at and distributed by US phone network AT&T.

For the record, the use of hand held phone while operating a vehicle is illegal. The penalty is a minimum fine of $100 to a maximum fine of $400 and the loss of four points.
