MOVE OVER ANGUS, THERE IS A NEW PATTY IN TOWN
Last week scientists unveiled the petri dish platter, a burger made from lab grown meat!
Mass production of meat by this process is a big if. The technology has the potential to reduce methane pollution by 95 percent. According to a 2011 study by the University of Oxford published in Environmental Science and Technology growing meat in the lab could reduce the need for farmlands to feed livestock by 98 percent.
Lab meat lacks fat as scientists have not figured that part out yet. It is insanely expensive. This initial burger cost over $$00,000 to produce!
Do we need a $400,000 burger grown in Petri Dishes?
My favorite burger is a Moose Burger on a large kaiser with feta cheese, red onions and maple Dijon mustard.
Talk about culture!
