A month ago, Natural Resources Minister Jerome Kennedy was telling thet the province that talks were in the "advanced stage" with a suitor interested in acquiring the idled/expropriated paper mill in Grand Falls-Windsor.
He was offering hope but offering few details. The government had played that game before. A few years ago the goernment leaked that it was in talks with a German paper company that had expressed interest in the facility. That deal never came to fruition
Less than a month after the leak of the latest round of "advanced talks cabinet colleague, and area MHA, Susan Sullivan is talking about demolishing the mill! Talk about crossed wires!
While the future of the mill is in doubt, the only thing getting demolished here is the governments reputation.
Makes one wonder if the left hand knows what the right hand is doing any more?
