IN SEARCH OF A BETTER WAY TO GOVERN: CANADADIAN DEMOCRACY UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

    _____________________________________________
“Almost all discourse in the Canadian Parliament
is scripted by party staffers. Questions posed
of the government rarely meet straight answers.
Politicians vote as their party leaders dictate
nearly 100 per cent of the time. Few private
members’ initiatives get past first reading.”

"It’s not just a partisan rant from those who are dissatisfied with the current state of politics. Experts say Canada’s government really is more controlling and less tolerant of dissent than most other democracies in the free world"

Frustration.

As a political hack who has spent a lifetime working in and on the fringes of the political system, my frustration with optics over substance, towing party lines and governing by the polls is well known.

This article proves that our system is broken. That discourse, debate and true representation is thwarted by the concentration of executive power in our political parties and parliamentary mechanics.

Have a read and share your thoughts.

regular people do not care. They do not expect any better. Why waste time, energy and resources fighting city hall?
