A CANTANKEROUS NORTH EAST ATLANTIC WINTER DAY

Winter in St. John’s is unstable. The winters here can be very slushy and wet.

I woke up this morning to rain, high winds and lots of slush on the roads.

A slushy salty soup has melted away the glistening, pure white snow.

So much for our little hockey rink which  provided the boys with lots of thrills yesterday. The hockey net is sinking!  The sleds are scattered, perched atop green blades of grass that have emerged under the melted snow.

So much for the nice fluffy snow and the panoramic winter scenes. I love how the snow glistens on the ground and how it makes everything look so pure and white.  I love how beautiful the woods look in the winter.

I like Winter. I like it most when it snows and stays cold. I enjoy snow, cooler temperatures and shoveling. I like it when we can slide, skate, snow shoe, make snow people and enjoy the weather.

On the other hand this slushy, wet windy crap is disgusting. The wet slushy boots, wet pants and cold feet! Yuck. It is nearly impossible to dress for this weather.

They grey wet cold weather makes me sluggish and lose motivation.

I want to go back to bed.
