Canada’s top right wing think-tank is offering high praise to the Progressive Conservative administration of Premier Kathy Dunderdale.

The Fraser Forum released it's annual report today that ranks the administration as #1 for fiscal policy amongst the provinces. It ranks 10 premiers (eight current and two former) on three components of fiscal policy: government spending, taxes, and debt and deficits.

The report “Measuring the Fiscal Performance of Canada's Premiers in 2012” examines and compares how provincial leaders have managed public finances in their provinces.

Newfoundland and Labrador scored 71.4 out of a possible 100. Put in perspective, Ontario eked out 28.9 points. Second to Dunderdale was New Brunswick Premier David Alward whose administration placed second with 70.4 points.

Former Premier Danny Williams placed second in the 2011 report with 72.9 points.

I understand that Transportation and Works Minister Paul Davis has instructed his engineers to find a way to install a retractable roof in the House of Assembly for the head swelling news!
