The Dunderdale administration's assault on freedom of information, Bill -29,  has been described as the year’s “biggest setback” to freedom of information in all of Canada, by the 2012 Newspapers Canada Freedom of Information (FOI) Audit.

The shameful deceleration about the state of government transparency and accountability  in this province reiterates many of the concerns put forward by journalists and the province's opposition last June during the debate on this  backward legislation.

Despite a brave gambit by the opposition parties, the Dunderdale administration used it's majority in the House of Assembly to prematurely end debate and cram the draconian bill down the throats of a dismayed public.
