Say it is not so!

The California Department of Public Health issued the warning yesterday against 16-ounce bags of Red Vines Black Licorice Twists .

I do not think we get the Red Vines label here on the rock, but I would not be surprised if American super chain Walmart had them. Tests show the product contains levels of lead that are more than twice the recommended daily limit for young children.

American Licorice Co. of Union City, has issued a voluntary recall for the tainted batch, which was distributed inside and outside of California

I love black licorice. They last forever at my house because the kids hate them meaning I do not have to share. Red licorice twists and nibs disappear like ice on a hot day!

I have become fond of the all natural strawberry and black licorices that you find at Shoppers Drug Mart. It tastes so fresh and isn’t hard....irresistible!

Tainted licorice! What is next?
