I got my first Risk board from my "Uncle Don" when I was eleven. Over my teenage and university years, Risk was a staple. Now that the boys, and their friends, have discovered it, I hope for a Risk renaissance .

It's empire building, but not overly complex.  It's long, but not too long, just enough to have some real fun with before moving on to the next game.

My fascination with the game is the politics.

Watching how everyone interacts, how each individual deals with the tension and the frustration as empires rise and fall. What little allegiances are formed and the reactions when treaties are broken.

I can hardly wait  to introduce some custom rules and introduce them to Axis and Allies and Diplomacy!
