MORE COAST GUARD CUTS

The CBC is reporting yet another blow to Search and Rescue services in this province.

The  Canadian Coast Guard vessel Harp, which is stationed in St. Anthony,  is about to be decommissioned. There does not appear to be any plans to replace the ship which primary patrolled the Labrador Coast and the Strait of Belle Island area.

The news comes in the wake of the Burton Winter tragedy, the closure of the St. John's Marine Rescue Center  and the closure of a number of coast guard radio stations in the province.

Frankly, what the heck can you say to express your frustration.
