Auditor General Wayne Loveys can finally retire.

Premier Dunderdale has appointed her Deputy Minister of Finance as the  province's new auditor general.

Terry Paddon takes over this Friday, June 1st.

Loveys was appointed to the role after John Noseworth retired early to run as a Progressive Conservative Candidate against  New Democrat Leader Lorraine Michael in the 2011 provincial election.

He was trounced in Signal Hill-Quidi Vidi, but his retirement did not last long.

Shortly after the election he was appointed  as a consultant to the newly formed Department of Advanced Education and Skills. His $140,000 job, to carry out an operational review. Noseworthy was hired without a competition.

In light of yesterday's announcement by Eastern Health to implement $43 in efficiencies , I wonder how far off an announcement on Mr. Noseworthy's operational review "Business Development Project" is?

Rumor has it that the department has ordered cases of pink paper!
