SPEAKING OF ICE CAPS

The boys are off-the-head excited that Danny William's Ice Cap's won their first-ever American Hockey League play-off contest on Friday night.

The excitement led to two days of Pickmore Place Mini-Stick Cup play, which led to a few broken mini-sticks, some allegations of cheating, scratched hardwood floors and the usual trash talk.

There was also lots of street hockey. The cul-de-sac was full of white and blue jerseys as the aspiring Mark Flood, Paul Postma, Carl Klingberg and  Jason Jaffray's played their hearts out.

The big bonus came on Sunday, when uncle Mike called to invite the boys, and their buddies,  up to Cougar Helicopter's Office to meet the entire team for a meet, greet and autograph session.

Now the the blue and white jerseys, mini-sticks and hats are covered in signatures and mounted on their bedroom walls. I gather they are no longer for play!

Pictures to follow!

The St. John’s IceCaps have announced the full schedule for their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinal series.
