GAY PORN AND THE SACRAMENTS

It is Holy Week and my kids preparation for the sacraments continues as we celebrate/remember the sacrifice that Jesus's made. The boys will be bringing the candles and the cross up to the alter during mass on Holy Thursday. Lent has been a period of reflection, homework and preparation

Parents of children preparing for the sacraments at a church in Northern Ireland are not sharing my enthusiasm of the Lenten preparation. The families were gathered for instruction from their priest with the help of a Powerpoint presentation. When he clicked a folder the screen filled with explicit images of gay porn!

He quickly removed the memory stick and rushed out of the room leaving the horrified parents and children in shock. He returned twenty minutes later, continued with the meeting  and offered no apology, or explanation.

Ireland's top Catholic, Cardinal Sean Brady, says the priest is assisting in an internal investigation. The priest says other church officials used the stick, and he wants an investigation "so that what happened can be legitimately explained". How in the name of god does one "inadvertently" bring gay pron to a presentation to a bunch of kids? I see no legitimate explanation just more sorrow for the countries 4 million Catholics.

Parents are "enraged that Father McVeigh has been entrusted with the pastoral care of their children." Church officials have arranged for another priest to oversee the children's Confessions this month but couldn't say whether McVeigh would oversee their First Communions in May.

It will be interesting to learn what divine, or not so divine, intervention turned  a PowerPoint on Confessions into slideshow of gay porn.

My money is on the butler!
