WILD ROVER

Today's song in the countdown to St. Patrick's Day is sung by an American Celtic Punk Band that preformed at the George Street Festival, this past summer.

I saw the DropkickMurphys in Boston, ten or twelve years ago. I liked them than and have continued to purchase their albums ever since. My love of Celtic punk started with the Pogues and has grown to include the Murphys, and Flogging Molly.
The festival has evolved into an iconic event on the St. John’s calendar; a must attend attraction for tourists and residents alike. Up until the arrival of my three boys, I would spend the week of the festival partying on the "Biggest Little Street in North America".

I like the punked-up covers of traditional Irish folk and the political songs about the struggles for independence and the struggles faced by unions.
