Siri is the spirit of the iPhone 4S, given voice.

Okay, so that's an unsophisticated take. Wikipedia says that Siri is "an intelligent software assistant and knowledge navigator functioning as a personal assistant application for iOS." Apple tells us that Siri "lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more."

Our friend Matt - like Peter, an early adapter by nature - recently demonstrated Siri's powers and limitations while dictating single malt scotch tasting notes to his iPhone 4S. Siri got Glenlivet alright, but Lagavulin translated to "like a villain" and Oban was "oh bad" (I couldn't disagree more).

Apple claims that you can "ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk", but not according to this video... (language is NSFW)
