The introduction of a faster, higher-res iPad equipped with new levels of graphics power should help generate a new flood of high-quality apps on Apple's platform, is much closer than I anticipated.
The word all around the internet and other media today is that the latest incarnation of iPad will be unveiled next month. Technology blog, All
ThingsD reports that "sources" say Apple
will announce the next iPad at a special event early next month.
The iPad 3 will offer a much improved 2,048-x-1,536 Retina Display and a
significantly faster graphics processor to support that screen. A
faster A6 processor and better battery life may also feature in this
release, which should sport a better HD-quality camera. That is double the screen resolution of the iPad 2! Enough to show a
Blu-ray movie in its native resolution and still have pixels to spare! A
It is also rumored to include SIRI.
Today All ThingsD is saying that Apple is in a crunch trying to find the best apps to market which show the power of the new tablet. The folks at Apple are sourcing apps that will be used for on-stage demonstrations, and in its advertising.
YourDailyMac, found a pointer to Friday, March 9 (09Mar2012) for a potential release of a new upcoming iOS version, 5.1. The new version would be an update for existing iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 3G/4G, iPad and iPad 2. The timing fits nicely with the rumored launch of the iPad 3.
It is touch to say for sure what is happening. Apple has confirmed nothing. I am sure the rumors will heat up as t the
anticipated launch draws closer.
I am looking forward to the launch, but dam it, I just bought the iPad 2 for Kristine for Christmas.
Keeping up with this tech curve is getting expensive!
