Deny this:

NASA scientists say the global average temperature last year was the ninth-warmest in the modern meteorological record, continuing a trend linked to greenhouse gases that saw nine of the 10 hottest years occurring since the year 2000!

That us with an La Nina event to cool things down.

They say the current higher temperatures are largely sustained by increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, especially carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is emitted by various human activities, from coal-fired power plants to fossil-fueled vehicles to human breath.

The 13 warmest years have all occurred in the 15 years since 1997. The extent of Arctic sea ice in 2011 was the second lowest on record, and its volume was the lowest

The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says 2011record-breaking climate extremes in the United States, which contributed to 14 weather and climate disasters with economic impact of $1 billion or more each.

As a nation we have really failed since the heady days when I was attending meetings of Canadian Council Of Environment Ministers and the country was leading the world in phasing out CFC's. The Montreal Protocol was a treaty that worked. It made a difference.  The 1992 Rio "Earth Summit" produced the Rio Declaration and Agenda 21. Heady days for those of us that thought real change was possible leading to February 16, 2005 when the The Kyoto Protocol finally came into effect, only to be tossed in the trash bin of history last year, by environmental crusader turned bully - Canada.

We have gone from environmental hero to zero. Our government not only wants Canada to ignore the problem, it wants the world to do nothing, as well.

Ignore it. It should pass.  Nothing to see here.
