I have Battlestar Galactica on the brain and it has nothing to do with the Sixes - well, almost nothing. The spring portion of the final season is just about finished and I will be craving more. The series has engaged modern culture and provides honest commentary on contemporary issues like racism, genocide and politics. The series has really raised the bar for science fiction shows and television generally. Even the camera technique used in filming is innovative.
The acclaimed series' impact is evident, with least three academic analyses on route. Seriously. Two University of British Columbia professors, Tiffany Potter and C.W. Marshall, have released Cylons in America: Critical Studies in Battlestar Galactica. Josef Stein and Tristan Tamplin will enlighten us with Battlestar Galactica and Philosophy, and two more BSG-themed books are set to follow.
Check out this link to an interview with CW Marshall.

You are absolutely correct about studying Battlestar Galactica! My own research into science fiction space adventures like Battlestar Galactica began in the 1970s regarding Star Trek and the original Battlestar Galactica series. My site, Trekology.com provides visitors interested in such research with considerable material to explore and enjoy.
