BAFFLING DAY AT CAMERON INQUIRY

Okay I am getting more confused by the minute. The government sends another lawyer to the Cameron Commission today with a request to limit some of the questioning of witnesses by inquiry lawyers. That lawyer, Jackie Brazil, ends up in a bit of a heated exchange with an obviously irritated Justice Cameron over who sent her forward with the request. Brazil, for some strange reason, cannot answer that simple question. She dodges it by saying government is a big organization and that Cameron should not make assumptions. Government counsel at the hearings, lawyer Rolf Pritchard, interjects and says Brazil takes her instructions from the same person as top provincial bureaucrat Robert Thompson. So who is that, the Clerk of the Council, the Minister of Justice, the Premier, the Cabinet as whole?

This escapade seems so messy. What's going on? Why the drama and intrigue?

I was hoping to get a better handle on the answers given by the Premier in the House of Assembly this afternoon but Hansard isn't posted on the internet. Part of the exchange I heard today referenced Justice Cameron's request for an extension and it sounded like the answer was no.

I really do not know what to think of recent developments!
