ANOTHER STAR IN THE CROWN

I gotta tell yea, it's heady stuff when our arch-nemesis the Globe & Mail features a headline like "another star to Newfoundland and Labrador". It makes me weak at the knees and little teary eyed.

Our province led the country in productivity improvement in 2007, for the third time in six years, Statistics Canada says in its publication of provincial productivity growth for last year.

Despite the large jump in productivity growth in Newfoundland, as well as in Prince Edward Island and the Territories in 2007, analysts are deeply concerned about the feeble state of productivity improvements over the past eight years.

Canada's prosperity of late has been dependent on stronger commodity prices, and those can't be relied upon for the future, they warn.

Now I need to get to work on the rumor that the Globe & Mail is looking into buying the Fortis building and relocating to St. John's. I wonder if they have applied for edge status.

When did a newspaper become our arch-nemesis?

And who's "we" anyway?

Those guys with that specific newfoundland (IE Nose and Jaw structure) look that indulge in Catholic darkness.

Arch-nemesis?

I guess I can add you to the list, which also includes Danny Williams and Bill Rowe, who fustigate, for no good reason other than that it's what Newfoundland nationalist ninnies have always done, against the nefarious Toronto press.... even as they hang on every syllable.
